It is not uncommon for a band to take some time between releasing albums, but 17 years is quite a gap.
However, when you are one of the pioneers of the emo movement and arguably released one of the albums that shaped the scene in the early 2000’s then you can kind of get away with it.
This is exactly the case for Illinois quartet American Football, who after their debut self-titled record in 1999 will release a second self-titled in October this year.
The band made up of Steve Holmes, Mike Kinsella, Nate Kinsella and Steve Lamos reformed in 2014 after a 15-year break, and ever since fans have been craving some new music.
Now the wait is over as the band have released the first song off the new self-titled called ‘I’ve Been So Lost For So Long’ which you can listen to below:
