Progress Wrestling to host two WWE Cruiserweight Series qualifying matches

Rumours have been running wild since NXT general manager William Regal announced the EVOLVE would be hosting the American qualifiers for the WWE’s Cruiserweight series.

Many people believed that London’s own Progress Wrestling would be part of the UK leg and last night at the company’s Chapter 27 show in the electric ballroom, founder Jim Smallman announced they would host two of the UK qualifiers.

It is yet a further feather in the cap of the UK promotion who have been making waves in the wrestling world.

The announcement comes after Triple H had name checked both Progress and Revolution Pro as potential partners to help uncover some diamonds for the upcoming series.

Progress and Rev Pro regular Zack Sabre Jr is expected to be one who is high on WWE’s list of talents who they would like to run the rule over, along side the likes of Progress Champion Marty Scurll and potentially Will Ospreay if he isn’t on NJPW duty.

The qualifiers will take place during the company’s next show in London on April 24.
