It took rookie Mikey Gall less than a minute to set up a date with former WWE superstar CM Punk inside the octagon.
Gall won in emphatic style at UFC’s Fight Night 82 yesterday to set up a clash with Punk.
After dispatching fellow debutant Mike Jackson in just 45 seconds, the impress Gall – who was promised by UFC president Dana White that he would be in line to be Punk’s first opponent – said he was hungry.
In his post-fight interview the 24 year-old said: ‘I’m hungry; I want to be fed, feed me with CM Punk please.
‘(I’ll) punch him as hard as I can in the face. I like to punch faces and I like to choke people out.’
Since signing with UFC in 2014, Punk’s debut inside the octagon has been hampered by injury, frustrating fans who have been awaiting his highly anticipated first MMA contest.
Afer Gall’s bout, the Straight Edge Superstar stepped inside to congratulate his opponent.
There has been no official confirmation as to when Punk will finally make his long awaited debut, with rumours mounting that it will be at UFC’s flagship event UFC 200, but Dana White has teased that the match might happen as early as UFC 199.
