Eight years ago one of the most significant bands in the UK scene decided to go there separate ways without as much of a murmur. No swan song, no goodbye, no final show.
When vocalist Toby Hayes, left Meet Me in St Louis in 2007, music fans thought that was the end of the Surrey post-hardcore meets math-rock quintet.
However, this is no longer true. As earlier today it was announced that MMISL would be literally getting the band back together for two exclusive shows.
And it appears this may not just be a quick reunion to bury the hatchet and life goes on, the words of drummer Paul Phillips give the indication that as a band MMISL are having fun playing once again.
Phillips said: ‘The planets have aligned and for the first time getting together to play these songs feels right.
‘This opportunity may not come along again so we owe it to ourselves in this one life we have to do it, and do it to the best of our ability, and have a fucking good time in the process.”
MMISL will be playing the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on the 17th June, followed by London’s The Dome on the 18th. Tickets go on sale Friday at 9am.
If you are unfamiliar with the band, then now is the time to get antiquated with them here:
