Some have said he was the face of Christmas, Kevin McCallister was the 8 year-old who every youngster in the 90’s wanted to be.
However, has anyone actually ever stopped to think what emotional scares being abandoned as a young infant would have in later life.
Well now the actor himself has taken to the internet to reveal all.
Macaulay Culkin returns to the role which made him a child star once more in the short dark comedy Dryvers, where Culkin is filling in for his wife as a taxi driver – despite not being able to drive.
It soon becomes clear that 25 years on from the Wet Bandits attempted burglary and older, highly strung McCallister is struggling to deal with a serious case of post-traumatic stress.
As passenger – and comedian Jack Dishel – takes the wheel, Kevin lights up a cigarette and pours his heart out proclaiming “I had to fend off my house from two psychopath home invaders. I was just a kid.”
“I mean, I still have nightmares about this bald weirdo dude chasing me around, calling me like, ‘louse’ and shit like that.
“They remembered my bastard of a brother (Buzz) but they forget me. The cutest fucking 8-year-old in the universe. By far.”
When the pair reach their destination they are confronted with a car-jacker, and once more the ever resourceful springs into action, only this time the outcome is somewhat bleaker.
The carjacker is tied up with fairy lights, before a truly disturbing shot of Kevin screaming and tearing his hair out.
